"PEOPLE THINK I'M THE HEROINE OF JAI HO"
Biscoot B-Now recently caught up with former Bigg Boss contestant Sana Khan, who is all set to make her debut in Bollywood with Salman Khan's film Jai Ho. The actress talked about her experience working with Salman and why she agreed to do a negative role.1. It must be a dream come true for you to work with Salman. Comment.
Sana: A lot of people kept saying, 'ki Sana tu toh overnight star bangaye', but those people don't know the kind of struggle I have gone through over the years. I have been working very hard from the last 8 years to be where I am today. And I got Bigg Boss through one of my controversial ad and that's how I met Salman. And by God's grace he saw me in the character and I ended up getting the role in Jai Ho.
2. Initial rumours had it that you were paired opposite Salman…
Sana: From Day 1 I have never told anyone that I am the heroine of the film. And if people think that I am capable of being the leading lady of Salman, I take it as a compliment. You won't believe even now after the promotions of Jai Ho, people keep telling me that I am the heroine of Jai Ho.
3. Were you comfortable in sharing the screen space with Daisy Shah?
Sana: (Laughs) Yes! Agar mera bas chale toh mein picture mein se sabko nikal du aur mere aur Salman ke shots rakdu. Only two characters in the film, Salman and Sana (laughs). On a serious note, I shared screen space with many actors, why only Daisy? I have shared it with Tabu ma'am, Danny sir, Mukul Dev and so many others. And as an actor, every film you do is a team work. I have no scenes with Daisy but I met her a few times on the sets and my major scenes are with Salman. And even though I am playing a negative character, for me to star in Jai Ho is a big jump in my career.
4. Any second thoughts on playing a negative role in your debut?
Sana- Honestly speaking, yes! When they initially told me that it was a negative role, I was like 'oh s*** yaar'. I was actually looking forward to do a positive role and dancing. I was quite confused whether I should do it or not. Then Salman told me one thing during the Bigg Boss party, that I should be different, then only people will remember me for it. And I said chalo you are getting such a big film with Salman and Jai Ho will be a big platform for me to show off my talent.
5. From your experience, how would you describe Salman?
Sana- I think Salman has been portrayed in the wrong way by media. If you ask him some weird question, which has no answer, obviously it will make him mad or angry. Salman is someone who doesn't belong to that category of actors, who put a fake smile and say everything is ok. He reacts the way he thinks and he feels like, which is a good thing.
6. Any of Salman's films that you ended up watching several times?
Sana- I love Salman's comedy films. I loved Partner, Chal Mere Bhai and God Tussi Great Ho. The funny part was when I told Salman that I loved watching God Tussi Great Ho, he laughed and said I am the only one to say it!
7. What are you expecting from Jai Ho?
Sana- If Salman is in the film I am pretty confident the film will do well. The only thing I don't know is how well will I do. But I am sure Jai Ho will be a hit, since it's a great film. Honestly speaking I am not expecting anything, because too much expectation leads to disappointment. I want to be surprised, I want to see people's reaction, and want to see what work I get after Jai Ho. I don't really know for how long I will stay in Bollywood.
8. Do we get to see you in item songs in the future?
Sana- Of course, I would love to do. If there's any film or song I like, I will 100 percent do it. Even though I didn't get a chance to do it in my first film, I will love to do it in my second film.
